Stop U.S. Support for Political Murders in Honduras
Farmworkers Ramón Ulises Castellanos and Miguel Sauceda were murdered in the Atlántida region of Honduras on March 12, a day after being kidnapped. Wealthy landowners are recapturing land using paramilitary force with the Lobo administration’s approval, land that the Zelaya government had redistributed to small farmers throughout the area who would actually work it. The U.S. State Department must no longer turn a blind eye to the Lobo administration’s mounting human rights record. Hundreds of abuses including several political assassinations cannot be ignored.
