Jornaleros Screening
Red And Black Cafe (400 SE 12th Ave)

Through music, poetry, and art, “Jornaleros” documents the lives and creative work of five Portland day laborers. The film humanizes the controversy about day laborers by showing these workers, first and foremost, as artists and activists in the community.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with day laborers, and a performance by day labor musicians/poets. Suggested $5-$10 sliding scale donation.

Friday Nov 19th, 4:30pm
Safe Communities Project Meeting
Voz (1131 SE Oak)

Share Your Story
Theirs is a story that needs to be told. Tens of thousands of immigrants are being arrested by local law enforcement agencies and now face detention or deportation. But their voices are not heard from behind detention walls. We want to change that. Safe Communities Project is working on gathering stories from folks who are being affected by ICE. Contact Brenda_at_pcasc.net for more information.
