Please have your organization send a letter to Enrique Penalosa, Mayor of Bogota, Colombia, print, sign, scan it, and email it to us.
Please tell him that you’ve heard the injured, workers of ASOTRECOL, fired by General Motors, will be removed from peacefully protesting across from the US Embassy. They are there rightfully under Article 37 of the Constitution. They are there because the US govt owned most of GM and allowed them to abuse their workers this way and not treat them fairly or as legally required. You and many others have learned about GM’s exploitation of them and the US government’s ignoring of human rights violations, and you will demand justice from the US government and compliance with the Labor Plan for Colombia, and ending special trade deals that allow abuse of workers. Whatever you think best to write. Then, please print and sign it, so the Mayor’s office won’t claim it’s fake, scan it and email it to asotrecol@gmail.com, jjorgeaalberto@hotmail.com, paige@pcasc.net, jharlanherb@gmail.com. The workers will take it to the Mayor’s office and get a photo receipt, so there can be no denial that they got the letter. THANK YOU! The effort by us pays off in keeping our best witnesses to corporate abuses witnessing 24/7, 365 1/4 days/year!
Tell Mayor of Bogota, Colombia, Don’t Evict Injured GM Workers!
